Here is a timeline of Princess Diana's life:

• 1961 - Born in Park House, Sandringham


• 1969 - At the age of 7, parents get divorced and remarry; her father to Raine Spencer, Countess of Dartmoor, and her mother to Peter Shand Kydd


• 1970 - Enrolls at Riddlesworth Hall, an all-girls boarding school in Norfolk at the age of 9


• 1973 - Enrolls in West Heath Girls' School in Kent and graduates without a diploma


• 1975 -Inherits the title "Lady" after her father becomes the Earl Spencer


• 1977 - Diana, at the age of 16, meets Prince Charles for the first time


• February 1981 - Diana and Charles announce their engagement


• March 1981 - Diana attends her first ever post-engagement social event


• July 1981 - Diana gets married to Prince Charles at St. Pauls's Cathedral


• November 1981 - Diana gets pregnant with her first child


• June 1982 - Prince William is born at St. Mary's Hospital and is given the name William Arthur Phillip Louis


• 1983 - Diana leaves for her first ever royal tour to Australia and New Zealand


• February 1984 - Diana gets pregnant with her second child

• 1989 - Diana discovers that Prince Charles was secretly having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles


• March 1992 - Diana's father, John Spencer dies of a heart attack


• December 1992 - Diana and Charles part ways after 11 years of marriage


• 1995 - Diana makes national appearance and discusses the effects of the divorce on her such as self-harm and bulimia


• 1996 - Prince Charles and Diana's divorce is confirmed and Diana retians the title, "The Princess of Wales", although she loses any sort of future claims to the throne


• August 1997 - After a trip to Sardina with Dodi Fayed and leaving in a limousine post dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Diana is pursued by the paparazzi, which then results in a crash at the Pont de l'Alma tunnel. Although Diana's bodyguard survives, she suffers severe injury and is pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the Pltie-St.Salpetriere Hospital at the age of 36.


• September 1997 - Diana's funeral is held and is buried at her family estate in Althorp. An estimated 2.5 billion people worldwide tuned in on televeision and more than a million lined up on the streets of London to pay their respects.
